I have an interview on the 24th March at Pelham Communications which is an Art PR Agency in London, the interview is for a three month internship over summer. I GOT IT

I am so proud of myself for getting this internship as PR is what I truly want to do, I have discovered from crafting my last show that I want to promote and sell something to an audience. This summer has been one which I have made the best used to, with two work experiences under-wraps and three shows I have organised myself. This way of working, I really take a shine to; the curator role, the contacting galleries, finding locations, promotion, press, charities if necessary, all these skills I have started to build fit perfectly into a PR firm.
I have created a site that represent the group of artists I used for the show I curated at the Lacey Contemporary, this group, is who I represent, I find the shows, contact the galleries and find the best price possible. This is a chance for me to showcase what I want to do, on a small scale!

Ewbank Auction House
I had thought about working at auction house for many years, I always had the vision of handling the pieces, selling and promoting the artworks. However as much as I enjoyed working there, it was more about a filing system, organizing booklets, draws, shelves to where the next auction will take place. The system of auction houses is not what I had initially thought- I love seeing the live auctions and watching the bids but for me, to really thrive it would have to be just the fine art sector.
I am so glad I was able to get this experience as it made me look back on what I wanted to do, it's great to learn and then use that experience for something better.

In may I have work experience coming up at Ewbank Auction house in Surrey, helping out with the upcoming auctions and learning about the value of items and rarity of artworks. Visiting the place in April I absolutely loved it, the business side to art is what interests me, the side where you experience the behind the sides and speak to collectors and those interest in buying. From here I hope to get more experience in London and develop a better knowledge of art history and the business side to art.

Previous Work Experience
Summer Project
I look back on the summer project I made last year with the ideas of putting something of mine into a public space. At the time I was working on figurative imagery and looking at the brushstroke and mark of the paint. Made up of three boards I set this through out the day in Farnham park for those to either acknowledge and question or simply ignore and pass by. The two sets of images show the day and night of the work, with comparisons on the light and colour and way it is effected and read at different times of the day. If I was to do this again, now with the slight change in practice and interest of principles of touch and form I would create a piece of work that stood much larger on scale and reflected something more meaningful, like my version of a political issue going on around us. I think this piece of work perfectly mirrors my trouble I had with subject matter as this person, man or figure is no one to me, or would be to anyone else viewing it. I think it was just for art's sake. It is good to look back on what I had such an interest in but just shows to me, how I have changed in my thinking and developed my practice and style of work.
